Same-Day Doctor Appointments in Frisco & McKinney
Same-day sick visits are often possible at both offices, for established and new patients — once your insurance is verified.
Can you be seen today?
Often, yes — at both the Frisco and McKinney offices, for established and new patients. Whether we can see you today depends on your plan, and your insurance has to be verified first. Here is exactly how that works.
What governs same-day availability
With Medicare and a supplement, a Medicare Advantage PPO such as WellMed, BCBS, Aetna, Anthem or Cigna HealthSprings, or any private plan with a PPO, we can usually see you the same day once we have verified your insurance. Self-pay patients can also be seen the same day. On an HMO it depends whose name is on your card: if Dr. Katari is already listed as your primary care physician we can see you the same day once your insurance is verified, and if he is not, your insurer has to approve the visit first or you have to have the name on the card changed, which takes effect on the first of a following month. EPO and POS plans work like an HMO rather than a PPO, so same-day cannot be guaranteed. Call us and we will ask your insurer for a priority number. For an emergency, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
Booking online? Your time is held, but your insurance is not confirmed until our staff verify it — usually the same business day. If your plan will not cover the slot you chose, we will call you and move it.
